Environmental Graphics, Custom Displays & Arena Branding
Little Caesars Arena opened in 2017 as the new home of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons, establishing a world-class sports and entertainment destination in the heart of Midtown Detroit. The approximately $863 million arena was completed on an accelerated 28-month construction schedule and encompasses approximately 885,000 square feet. AECOM
Shaw/PPC Design partnered with Ilitch Holdings and Olympia Entertainment to produce a variety of custom environmental graphics, branded displays, and specialty fabrication elements throughout the arena. Working within the demanding schedule and quality standards of a major professional sports venue, our team transformed creative concepts into durable, production-ready features designed to reinforce the identity and championship heritage of the Detroit Red Wings.
Our scope included custom locker room graphics, trophy and display cases, dimensional branding elements, and specialty exhibit work showcasing the history and achievements of the organization. Among the most distinctive features are 11 custom Stanley Cup graphics produced in brushed aluminum, creating a dimensional tribute to the Red Wings’ championship legacy. The metallic finish, precision fabrication, and integrated lighting give the graphics a strong architectural presence within the locker room environment.
Shaw/PPC also produced the massive Little Caesars Arena logo mesh scrim suspended beneath the center-hung scoreboard. Engineered and manufactured at an impressive scale, the scrim creates a highly visible branded focal point that can be seen throughout the seating bowl while integrating seamlessly with the arena’s scoreboard structure.
Through close collaboration, detailed project management, large-format printing, custom fabrication, and specialty installation, Shaw/PPC Design helped deliver branded environments that celebrate Detroit’s sports history and contribute to the premium experience found throughout Little Caesars Arena.
